Frequently Asked Questions
What does a sanctuary lamp counterbalance do?
A counterbalance allows a hanging sanctuary lamp to be raised and lowered smoothly using a pulley and weight system. This makes it easy to light the lamp, refill oil, replace candles, or clean the fixture without the need for a ladder.
What is lead shot and is it included?
Lead shot is the weighted material used inside the counterbalance to offset the weight of the sanctuary lamp. It is not included with this unit and must be purchased separately. The amount required will depend on the weight of your sanctuary lamp.
What is the maximum weight this counterbalance can hold?
This counterbalance is rated to hold up to 30 lbs., which accommodates most standard hanging sanctuary lamps.
What are the dimensions of this counterbalance?
The body measures 5-1/2" in diameter and 38" in overall height. It extends to 62" to allow the lamp to be lowered for tending.
How does satin brass differ from polished brass?
Satin brass has a softer, brushed appearance compared to the bright shine of polished brass. It is well suited to sanctuaries with natural wood tones, muted metal accents, or a more understated aesthetic, and it tends to show fingerprints and wear less visibly than a high-polish finish.
