A Polished Brass Counterbalance for Raising and Lowering Sanctuary Lamps with Traditional Elegance
Polish Brass Sanctuary Lamp Counterbalance by Koley's Inc. is a generously sized pulley mechanism designed to raise and lower hanging sanctuary lamps smoothly for lighting, maintenance, and cleaning. Measuring 8" in diameter with an overall height of 46" that extends to 76", this counterbalance is well suited to sanctuaries with higher ceilings and heavier lamp installations, holding up to 60 lbs. Lead shot is required for proper counterbalancing and must be sourced separately.
Designed for parishes, chapels, and oratories where a hanging sanctuary lamp must be regularly tended, this counterbalance combines the practical function of a pulley system with the bright, formal appearance of polish brass liturgical hardware. Its larger diameter and extended reach make it the right choice when a standard-size counterbalance is not sufficient for the lamp or ceiling height.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a sanctuary lamp counterbalance do?
A counterbalance allows a hanging sanctuary lamp to be raised and lowered smoothly using a pulley and weight system. This makes it easy to light the lamp, refill oil, replace candles, or clean the fixture without the need for a ladder.
How does the K-562-B/BRASS differ from the satin brass and gold plate models?
All three models share the same dimensions and 60 lb. weight capacity. The K-562-B/BRASS features a polish brass finish, which has a brighter, more formal appearance than the satin brass finish and a warmer tone compared to the 24K gold plate. Choose based on the finish of your existing sanctuary furnishings.
What is lead shot and is it included?
Lead shot is the weighted material used inside the counterbalance to offset the weight of the sanctuary lamp. It is not included with this unit and must be purchased separately. The amount required will depend on the weight of your sanctuary lamp.
What is the maximum weight this counterbalance can hold?
This counterbalance is rated to hold up to 60 lbs., making it suitable for larger and heavier hanging sanctuary lamps.
Is polish brass a good match for my existing furnishings?
Polish brass has a bright, reflective finish that pairs well with other polished brass furnishings. If your sanctuary features polished brass candlesticks, tabernacles, or lamp fixtures, this counterbalance will complement them naturally.
