Frequently Asked Questions
What is the carrying ring used for?
The ring attached to the base of this oil stock allows a priest or deacon to wear it on a finger or hang it from a cord or chain during ministry. This keeps the stock accessible and secure while the minister's hands are occupied with other tasks during a pastoral visit or anointing.
What does the "OI" engraving indicate?
The "OI" stands for Oil of the Infirm, one of the holy oils blessed by the bishop at the Chrism Mass. This engraving helps clergy quickly identify the contents of the stock during ministry.
Is this oil stock compatible with standard sick call sets?
Yes. This compact oil stock is designed to work with standard sick call sets and viaticum kits. Please verify the dimensions of your specific set before ordering if a precise fit is required.
Is this the same as the K-31-G model?
The K-31-R shares the same heavy gauge stainless steel construction as the K-31 family but adds a carrying ring for hands-free convenience. The K-31-G is the gold-plated version without the ring. Please select the model that best fits your ministry needs.
